My name is Rebecca Cherry. I am the founder and creative director of Red Rabbit Music. I have been inspired by the many educators, and creative people who have helped shape my career as a professional musician. I created Red Rabbit Music because I believe in shaping the lives of students through music and fine arts. We guide students to become outstanding citizens in their communities. The skills we teach through our programs can be applied to their daily lives, contributing to enriching their education and successfully reaching their goals.
Our programs and lessons are for beginning and intermediate students and cover all instruments. We incorporate methods of teaching such as, the Suzuki school method, traditional, and multi-disciplinary styles of training. Our teachers have graduated from the top music conservatories, with world class training and experience.
Tuning the Future focuses on the hard work and efforts of The Noel Pointer Program and the work of Violinist and educator Rebecca Cherry teaching in PS 38 and PS 44 in Brooklyn. We see first hand from the students at these schools, parents, administrators, and Ms Cherry why the program, and others like it are so important. Children in this film in the New York Public School system are given an opportunity to learn a string instrument and enhance their studies and personal empowerment thanks to grants from Brooklyn council members. The program relies heavily upon these grants. Threatening budget cuts will take the teachers and classes out of the schools. This program changes the lives of hundreds of young minds every year and encourages children towards their future personal success.
